I know I’m late by 10 months here, but after driving both, the Edge is nowhere near the SUV that the Subaru is. Subaru put its rally experience into all of their cars. The Ford Edge does not benefit from Ford’s (English) rally experience. I live in Colorado, where the roads are unforgiving. You don’t see a lot of Fords. Their AWD system is crap. You see Subaru’s vehicles all over the place. You should have spent the extra money (if you could have) and got the better SUV. You’re a moron.

Which vehicle has Subaru’s symmetrical all wheel drive and Subaru’s boxer engine? Which one has the Tribeca’s interior or anything else. I’m asking because I don’t know. Enlighten me. The Tribeca is a rebadged… what?

The 2010 Subaru Forester is a carryover from 2009. The 2010 Forester is the third generation of the popular crossover utility vehicle from Subaru, and was totally redesigned in 2009. The 2010 Forester once again blends positive SUV attributes including a high seating point and interior versatility with passenger car comfort, superior handling, fuel efficiency and is available in both 2.5 liter naturally aspirated and 2.5 liter turbocharged models. The naturally aspirated models are available with a manual or automatic transmission.

The 2010 Subaru Forester has a familiar wagon like shape, but it’s no longer as tall and boxy – it’s sleeker from the outside. Inside, the Forester inherits a swoopier design from the larger Tribeca, with an upright dash that flows smoothly around to the doors, yet the center stack of controls is quite upright and straightforward. On the Subaru Forester interior  it’s a good mix of high-quality silver plastic accents and black, ‘soft-touch’ plastic. Subaru engineers placed the radio at the top of the dash, because we all know that fiddling with the radio is far more rewarding than doing the same with the air conditioning knobs.

Volkswagen introduced two days ago the first pictures of the second generation Touareg. Although producer in Wolfsburg is a trademark of volume, the Touareg is one of its models that are heading into the premium segment. Thus, the new Touareg Volkswagen is equipped with a hybrid powertrain and with many technological elements worthy of a segment higher, price or following to frame, as if the previous generation, somewhere between the two segments.

These elements are enough to make the third generation of the Touareg a competitor’s X5 and ML, or it remains just a competitor for Veracruz and other similar models? To make a comparison, I put the new Touareg face with both his opponents directly from the premium segment, as well as those represented by the brands of volume.
