The 2.0 RS is not quite one of those animals and requires some coaxing to get the power band working efficiently – it is actually the WRX’s baby sibling and still sports a body kit, side sills, boot wing and pronounced front bumper spoiler plus integrated fog lights. Also standard are 205/50 rubber.
Not being fitted with a turbocharger the 2.ORS with its Boxer engine developing 110kW and 196Nm won’t set the world alight, but in saying that it is extremely pleasant to be able to ‘drive’ the car using
the revs with the help of a very well spaced five speed manual gearbox The engine however cries out to be revved and once up to the legal speed limit, cruises effortlessly. There is no fuss about driving the RS, it takes everything in its stride and allows for a ‘laid back’ experience under all conditions.
