The third-generation Forester is a new-generation crossover SUV from Subaru, a car that meets the demands and needs of everyday driving. • Compared to the previous model, the new Forester is 110 mm taller (excluding the roof rail) and 45 mm wider, and its wheelbase has been expanded by 90 mm, increasing interior space and improving riding comfort. On the other hand, the overall distance between the ends of the right and left door mirrors has been shortened by 10 mm through mirror position and design changes. Also, the minimum turning radius was made shorter by 0.1 meter for zippy handling.
Forester 2.5X models receive a new 2.5-liter flat four with new bore and stroke dimensions and a slightly longer stroke. Displacement increases from 2,457 cc t0 2,498 cc. Torque increases by 4 lb-ft. to 174 lb-ft. and now peaks at 4,100 rpm (previously 4,400 rpm). Most importantly, fuel economy is up all around to 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway for both manual and automatic transmissions. That’s a 1 mpg improvement for automatics both in the city and on the highway, while manuals see a 1 mpg improvement in city driving only.

The automaker has also added another trim level to the Forester lineup: 2.5X Touring. It adds to the previously range-topping (for naturally aspirated models) 2.5X Limited HID headlamps, a backup camera integrated into an upgraded audio system, automatic climate control, silver finished roof rails, electroluminescent gauges and turn signals integrated into the side mirrors.

Configure a shift light that flashes the screen when a user defined rpm is reached. Select the integrated Data Logger to record multiple channels of data simultaneously. Go to Troubleshooting mode to diagnose issues by reading the factory codes and resetting the system once the issues have been resolved.
The AccessPORT can be used to eliminate separation anxiety for those times when you are away from your car. Protect your investment when out on the town by quickly loading the Valet map to prevent the engine from revving above 3,200 rpm. Load the Anti-Theft map when you park to make it impossible to start. In the event the car must be returned to the stock configuration, the AccessPORT can be completely removed and the ECU restored to its factory condition.
