Once again emphasizing that high performance doesn’t necessarily require a high sticker price, Subaru has announced that the starting MSRP for the 2011 Impreza WRX lineup will see a mere $500 bump for the new model year, while drivers will be able to get into a 2011 Impreza WRX STI for a sticker price that’s a full $1,000 lower than that of the 2010 models.

Wearing aggressive new body work—including new front and rear bumpers along with wider fenders and quarter panels—the exhilarating Subaru Impreza WRX has a base sticker price of $25,495 for both the four- and the five-door models. Other upgrades for the 2011 model year include an improved sound system that now features six speakers, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and new alloy wheels wrapped in wider summer-performance tires. WRX sedans also get chrome satin accents and quad tailpipe outlets.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Big Success Car

The bad news regarding this vehicle is that it will be available only on the Japanese market. The good news is that the new car will carry a five-speed automatic transmission mated to a turbocharged/intercooled 2.5-liter engine found also on the brand new 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI which was revealed at the New York Auto Show. The engine delivers an impressive 305 hp, but no data regarding its performances was released. Oh, and comparing it to the manual version of the WRX STI, the new car comes without the impressive rear wing spoiler.
